Greetings:
Andy Burke checking in on USA Water Polo's information page for the FINA World Masters Championships in Perth, Australia. This is Friday, April 11th, and like all others I am trying to get everything else caught up before we leave Sunday night for a 14 1/2 hour flight to Sydney, followed by a 5 hour flight to Perth. I will be traveling with the Olympic Club's teams (30+, 40+ and 45+); in addition there are teams from Tri-Valley and KAOS and other US teams making this trek. I will try to report on the results of all the teams.
The Olympic Club group has been doing this since the 1996 World's in Sheffield, England. The nucleous for the 40+ and 45+ teams started out by winning the 30+ age group in 1996, and repeaing in 1998. This makes their 7th World Masters. In 2006 they won the 40+ age group. It is a great trip and it is fun to see friends from teams from all around the world.
My next entry will be from Perth, Australia. One of my favorite places, with some really great friends.
